Qld: Coalition promises more police and new training centre
Queensland Opposition Leader LAWRENCE SPRINGBORG says a coalition government would
bulldoze the Queensland Police Academy, which he says is a cockroach-infested cesspit.
At a news conference in Brisbane Mr SPRINGBORG and Liberal Leader BOB QUINN have announced
plans to build a new academy to train extra police who'll be on the streets by 2010.
Mr SPRINGBORG says a $40 million state-of-the-art police academy would be built at
Gatton, 45 minutes west of Brisbane.
