Aylesbury-born Boyce makes international debut.

FORMER Quarrendon School pupil turned Premiership footballer Emmerson Boyce made his international bow this week for Barbados.

Boyce, who plays for Premiership strugglers Wigan Athletic, made a successful debut for the international minnows as they beat Dominica 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday.

Boyce, who still holds junior athletic records at Quarrendon School, has ties in the town to this day. The tall defender has grown into a proven Premiership performer over the last few years, being voted player of the year at all of his professional clubs.
