Fed: Anderson should call of airspace reform - Labor
Labor says Transport Minister JOHN ANDERSON should suspend the new national airspace
system in the wake of a near mid-air collision of planes near Melbourne.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau, Airservices Australia and Virgin Blue are investigating
the incident.
All three say it's too early to say how close the planes came to colliding, or to confirm
whether they were only 20 seconds from disaster.
Opposition transport spokesman MARTIN FERGUSON says the incident appears to be related
to the introduction of Mr ANDERSON's airspace reform.
Mr FERGUSON says he's calling on Mr ANDERSON to end the airspace reform process and
to properly consult those engaged in its implementation.
