NSW: Man arrested in Armidale on suspicion of arson
SYDNEY, Dec 29 AAP - A man has been arrested on suspicion of lighting fires at Armidale
in the mid-north of NSW.
Armidale police say he was found by firefighters allegedly lighting three separate
fires on vacant land adjacent to the Armidale Mission in Cooks Road, Armidale about 2pm
today.
The fires were extinguished by the Armidale unit of the NSW Fire Brigade.
A 22-year-old man has been charged with causing or setting fire to the property of
another and will also face two counts of assaulting police.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in Armidale Local Court tomorrow.
