BlueRun Ventures, an early stage mobile and consumer internet investor, announced it has deepened its team to augment support for entrepreneurs.
The Company said Jay Jamison has joined full time as a Venture Partner. Jamison brings product experience in both business and consumer markets, having worked in leadership roles for Microsoft's Windows and Windows Server businesses for more than 9 years. Jamison also has first-hand entrepreneurial experience: he was the co-founder and President of Moonshoot, a children's English language learning software and service, available in Asia. He has built mobile applications, including Smackdaddy, a social sports betting game for the iPhone. Jamison's domain and product experience help entrepreneurs in early stage companies evaluate, prioritize, and execute against critical milestones. He has been a featured speaker at the Startup Digest University, the Hacker Dojo, and the Founders Showcase. He is also a Facilitator and Mentor at the Founders Institute.
"Supporting our entrepreneurs is most imperative to us," notes John Malloy, founder and General Partner of BlueRun Ventures, "Today is an amazing time to be an entrepreneur, particularly in mobile because we are just scratching the surface. Still, young companies need support beyond setting strategy and getting money. We have been investing in mobile for over 12 years; it's our heritage. We want to match that heritage with resources that our companies can leverage every day."
According to a release, BlueRun has also promoted Andrew Thornborrow and Cheryl Cheng to Operating Partners. Thornborrow was BlueRun's in house counsel and will now oversee both legal and finance. Thornborrow works closely with entrepreneurs to structure deals to facilitate and streamline fundraising and corporate governance. Cheng was Director of Marketing and will now manage marketing and business development. Cheng drives community and entrepreneur engagement with BlueRun and also works alongside entrepreneurs to assist with marketing and business development needs.
